8 questions to ask before you publish your next post

Parents are busy! In today’s fast-paced world, you have around 3-seconds to grab their attention while they’re scrolling – which means if you’re a business selling to families and parents, you need to make sure each post packs a punch and grabs their attention, fast!

To help, I’m sharing eight questions to ask yourself before you publish each post – to help you cut through the noise and connect with the people who really matter to you – parents!

  1. Who is this for?

Are you looking to reach parents of newborns, babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers or young children? Get specific and make sure your post speaks directly to their world.

  1. Is this valuable?

Does your post actually help parents or families? Does it entertain them? Or could it inspire them? Try to add value where you can, to help families build trust and connection with your brand.

  1. Does it visually appeal?

Be honest, would you stop scrolling to read your post? It doesn’t need to look perfect, but it does need to grab attention for the right reasons, whether it’s through strong visuals or graphics, or a strong hook.

  1. Is your message clear and simple?

Parents don’t have lots of free time, so make sure your message is clear, concise and easy to read.

  1. Does your content speak to how your audience is feeling?

Try to avoid speaking at your audience, and instead try meeting them at their level – where they are and what they are looking for. Sparking emotions – whether they are happy or reflective – can really help you to connect with your audience

  1. Have you encouraged interaction?

Make it easy for your audience to engage with you – whether that’s by asking a question, asking them to tag someone or running a poll – keep it social!

  1. Does it align with your brand values?

Show you care about families, not just sales. Creating content that is authentic to who you are and what you believe in will make it easy for your audience to build trust in you and your business.

  1. Is there a clear call-to-action?

Make it easy for your audience to DO what you want them to do, by including a clear CTA in your posts / stories / reels.
